Katie James, born Inishfree Island, Ireland in 1985, is a singer and songwriter who moved to Colombia at age two. She grew up in an Anglo-Irish hippie community called "Atlantis" in the Huila mountains, blending Colombian and Latin American folk sounds into her compositions. James released the album Respirar in 2017, followed by Humano in 2021. Notable singles include "Toitico Bien Empacao" (2019), which addresses the contrast between rural and urban life in Colombia, and "La quebrada" (2021). She has performed extensively across Latin America, Europe, and North America. James was nominated twice for the Premios Nuestra Tierra awards with her songs "Toitico Bien Empacao", "La Quebrada", and album Humano.
