María Jimena Pereyra Castaño, born on November 20, 1976, in La Plata, Argentina, is a singer who became a naturalized Chilean. She began her musical journey at an early age and recorded her first studio album titled Voy al frente in 1990. In 2001, Pereyra moved to Chile and gained recognition as a participant on the talent show Rojo Fama Contrafama, winning the competition in 2003. This victory led to the release of her album Dedicado under Warner Music Group, which became a double platinum success. Her subsequent albums included Esa luz (2004), featuring hits like "El precio que tiene el amor" and "Tal como soy", and María Jimena... y más (2006). In 2005, she received the award for Best Female Performer from the Asociación de Periodistas de Espectáculos.
