Colombian songwriter, singer, and multi-instrumentalist known for his sweet voice, sharp melodies, and deeply honest lyrics. With roots in bolero, jazz, and bossa nova, his music draws from rock, pop, and reggae, blending them with contemporary and nostalgic sounds in the pursuit of an authentic music that moves and resonates.
He has been a guest musician for artists such as Juanes and Sebastián Yatra. "Solo" holds a degree as a jazz guitarist from the Escuela de Música y Audio Fernando Sor (Bogotá), and was trained as a singer at EAFIT University and under renowned vocal coach Mirabay Montoya.
Since the beginning of his solo career in 2012, he has released three full-length albums, four EPs, a couple of live DVDs, and several singles in collaboration with artists such as El Caribefunk, Providencia, Tika (Brazil), and Yorka (Chile), accumulating over one million streams on Spotify to date. DAR was named one of the 20 most important albums in Colombia in 2017 by the newspaper El Colombiano.
In 2023, he was invited to perform at the Vive Latino Festival in Mexico, sharing the stage with artists such as Red Hot Chili Peppers, UB40 or Café Tacuba. Toured five cities across the country alongside the band Margarita Siempre Viva, released a three-song EP titled Mientras Tanto El Mundo Sigue, and recorded a new album at the prestigious Casa Estudio El Desierto.
He has toured extensively in Chile, Argentina, Brazil, and Mexico, and has also performed in Peru, Uruguay, Spain, and Costa Rica, along some incredible musicians such as El Kanka, Mr Kilombo, Benjamín Walker, Renée, Juan Pablo Vega, among many others. He has participated in festivals including Altavoz 2021, El Rockódromo (Valparaíso 2019), Jazz al Parque (Bogotá 2018), Festival Internacional de Cantautores Costa Rica (San José 2016), Primavera Fest (Medellín 2018), and Shock Fest (Bogotá 2014), as well as music markets such as FIMPRO, BOMM, and CIRCULART, where he was selected for showcases at the latter two.
In 2024, he joined El Caribefunk on a 25-date tour across more than 15 cities in Peru, Argentina, Chile, and Uruguay. Past year Solo released two singles, a music video, and a remix as a preview of his upcoming album, Sed del Mar. 2026 marks the official release of Sed del Mar, the culmination of more than two years of work that began at El Desierto Casa Estudio and was completed in Medellín with Falso Ídolo, the artist’s label.
The album features 12 brand-new tracks rooted in pop, rock, and folk, combining emotional storytelling with strong melodies and contemporary production. Sed del Mar explores different expressions of desire and longing, reflecting on our human drive to reconnect, to feel whole, and to belong.
