St. Laurence O’Toole Pipe Band, a Grade 1 pipe band based in Dublin, Ireland, was established in 1910 by Frank Cahill. The band initially clashed with police during the Dublin Lock-out of 1913 and faced attacks on their headquarters during the Irish War of Independence. After the Irish Civil War, they ceased political affiliation and focused on their musical pursuits. Under Pipe Major John Duggan, the band won the All Ireland Championships in 1958. Following a period of decline, Tommy Tully took over as acting pipe major. After his death, his son Terry Tully led the band to win the Champion of Champions award in Grade 2 during their 75th anniversary in 1985. In 1988, they were upgraded to Grade 1 and won multiple championships, including the World Championships in 2010. Notable Pipe Majors include Michael Colgan, John Duggan, Tommy Tully, Terry Tully, and Alen Tully, who took over in 2013.
