Margaret Berger, born 11 October 1985 in Trondheim, Norway, is a Norwegian singer, songwriter, music director, and DJ whose early involvement in a gospel choir and songwriting from age twelve laid the foundation for her career. After placing second in the second season of Norwegian Idol in 2004, she signed with Sony BMG and released her debut studio album Chameleon on 28 September 2004, which peaked at number 4 on the Norwegian albums chart; the album featured the video‑winning track "Lifetime Guarantee" that earned a Spellemannprisen award. In 2006 she issued Pretty Scary Silver Fairy, reaching number 8 in Norway and spawning singles such as "Samantha" and "Will You Remember Me Tomorrow?". Berger expanded her role as music director for NRK P3 in 20e08 and released the EP Four Hits: Margaret Berger in 2011, compiling her earlier singles. Her 2013 entry "I Feed You My Love" won the Norwegian national final and secured fourth place at the Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö, Sweden, with 191 points-Norway's best result since 2009. Subsequent releases included the singles "Human Race" (2013) and "Scream" (2014) from her planned album New Religion, though the album’s release was delayed. In 2015 she announced "Apologize" and later participated in Melodi Grand Prix 2024 with "Oblivion", finishing seventh in the final. Her career remained marked by consistent chart presence and notable contributions to Norway’s pop and electronic music scene.
