Brahim Mahrez, known professionally as Brahim, was born in 1972 in Saint-Pierre-des-Corps, a suburb of Tours, France. He is a singer of French reggae music. From 1989 to 1995, Brahim Mahrez was part of the Wadada Sound System, performing as a singer and touring with various sound systems across France. His debut album, Dans quel monde on vit, released in 2000, was recorded in London and produced by Yovo and Giovanny at Jet Star Studios. The album sold 10,000 copies. Following this success, Brahim Mahrez toured extensively, including as an opening act for Toots and the Maytals. His subsequent albums include Toujours sur la route (2009), Sans haine (2012), and Déconnecté (2014). Notable collaborations on these albums include Cheb Tarik, Pierpoljak, Nuttea, Merlot, Asha B., Tibé, and Mighty Ki La.
