Myriam Aegerter, known professionally as Mia Aegerter, was born on 9 October 1976 in Freiburg im Üechtland, Switzerland, and emerged as a singer, songwriter, and dancer. Raised in a musical family, she learned guitar early and later studied singing, dance, and acting at the Musical Academy in Munich. Her breakthrough came with the 2003 single "U Don’t Know How To Love Me" and the single "Meischterwärk", which marked her entry into the Swiss pop scene. Mia Aegerter’s discography progressed with the 2004 album So Wie I Bi, followed by the 2005 single "Alive," and the 2006 release Vo Mänsche U Monschter / Of Humans And Monsters, which included the single "Meischterwärk". She continued with Chopf oder Buuch (2009) and Gränzgängerin (2012), before a five‑year hiatus. In 2017 she returned with Nichts für Feiglinge, featuring songs written and performed entirely in German. Her work received recognition with the 2003 Prix Walo for Newcomer, the 2004 VIVA Comet award for Best CH Act, and the 2005 Swiss Award in the Showbusiness category. Mia Aegerter has also appeared in television series such as Gute Zeiten schlechte Zeiten and films including Achtung, fertig, Charlie! (2003) and Leben auf Kredit (2005).
