Lara St. John, born April 15, 1971, in London, Ontario, Canada, is a violinist known for her classical music performances. Encouraged by her educator parents, she began playing the violin at age two and gave her first public performance with an orchestra by four. In 1980, St. John won the grand prize at the Canadian Music Competition and made her European debut with the Gulbenkian Orchestra in Lisbon when she was 10 years old. She studied at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia. Notable performances include solo appearances with major symphony orchestras across North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. St. John has released several albums, including Gypsy (1997), Re: Bach (2003), and Bach: The Six Sonatas & Partitas For Violin Solo (2007). She founded the artist-owned record company Ancalagon LLC in 1999.
