Nik Freitas is a singer-songwriter from Visalia, California, currently residing in Los Angeles. Before turning to music full-time in 2001, he worked as a staff photographer for Thrasher Magazine. Early in his career, he played with For Stars, a group signed to Future Farmer Records, which also released his first two albums, Here's Laughing at You (2002) and Heavy Mellow (2003). Freitas produces and performs nearly all the instruments on his records. His fourth album, Sun Down, was released in 2008 by Conor Oberst’s Team Love Records. He contributed two of his own songs to the Mystic Valley Band’s debut album, Outer South, and has toured as a solo act, as well as performing with Broken Bells.
