Peter Calandra is an American composer and pianist from New York City. He started his career as a keyboardist in Broadway productions such as Miss Saigon and Les Misérables. His breakthrough came with composing music for television and film projects. In 2004, he released his first album, Sunrise Over New York, and has since scored over 90 films and documentaries, including Unknown Soldier (2005) and Rise (2011). Calandra composed themes for major sporting events like the FIFA World Cup and Special Olympics World Games. His television credits include projects for the National Geographic Society and the Sesame Workshop. Some of his albums include Inner Circle (2014), First Light (2015), and Carpe Noctem (2018). He has also composed music for significant events such as the Kennedy Center Honors (2015-2019) and the Democratic National Convention (2020).
