Nechama Hendel, born on August 22, 1936 in Rehavia, Jerusalem, was an Israeli singer. She began her career with the IDF Nahal music troupe and gained international recognition with "Machar" ("Tomorrow"), composed by Naomi Shemer and featured on Jerusalem of Gold. Hendel also sang in Yiddish and voiced characters in Hebrew versions of animated movies such as Pocahontas II: Journey to a New World and Mulan, released a few months after her death from cardiac arrest in 1998.
