Anke Hachfeld, known professionally as miLù, was born in May 1973 in Germany and developed an interest in music at the age of sixteen. She later gained recognition for her four‑octave range and onomatopoeic vocal style in a personal fantasy language. Her early career unfolded with the band Mila Mar, which released four albums and three singles on Strange Ways Records between 1998 and 2003. In 2003, miLu collaborated with Christopher von Deylen on Schiller’s album Leben, and later appeared on Tag und Nacht, where the track "More" earned a gold record in 2006. She also toured with Schiller, Peter Heppner of Wolfsheim, and drummer Gary Wallis. miLu’s solo debut, No Future In Gold, was released on E-Wave Records in 2005 and reached number 60 on the German singles chart with the single "Aus Gold" featuring Heppner and Kim Sanders, a charity‑focused release whose proceeds supported Afghan children through the German Red Cross. She followed with Longing Speaks With Many Tongues in 2008 under Premium Records.
