Benjamin Anthony Edward Stevens Adams, born 22 November 1981 in Ascot, Berkshire, is an English pop singer who first gained prominence as the lead vocalist of the boy band A1, whose 2001 Brit Award for Best Newcomer followed chart‑topping singles "Take On Me" and "Same Old Brand New You". After the group’s initial split in 2002, Adams released the solo single "Sorry" in 2005, which reached number 18 on the UK Singles Chart, and subsequently signed with BMG Records, writing and producing for artists such as Robin Thicke, Craig David and Alexandra Burke. In 2009 he returned to A1 for a reunion tour and later contributed to the band’s albums Waiting for Daylight (2010) and Rediscovered (2013). Adams ventured into musical theatre, starring in pantomimes and touring productions of Flashdance the Musical, and co‑created the musical Eugenius! (premiered 2016). In 2019 he released the duet "This Is Christmas" with Morissette, and in 2021 he joined the pop duo Subwoolfer, representing Norway at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 with "Give That Wolf a Banana", which placed tenth. His solo album Change was issued on 18 November 2016, and subsequent singles "O M G" (2017) and "I Can't Make You Love Me" (2018) added to his catalogue of pop releases.
