Rockbitch, a British LGBT rock band, was formed in 1984 as Cat Genetica by bassist Amanda Smith-Skinner and guitarist Tony Skinner. The band evolved through several name changes, becoming Rockbitch in the late 1980s. They gained notoriety for their provocative performances, which included nudity, sexual acts, and Pagan rituals. Their debut album, Motor Driven Bimbo, was released in 1999. In 2003, they received a Lifetime Achievement award from the Sexual Freedom Awards. Despite facing legal pressures and venue restrictions due to their controversial performances, Rockbitch continued to perform live until 2004. They disbanded shortly after, with members later forming MT-TV and Syren. Drummer Joanne Heeley passed away in 2012 and Smith-Skinner gave up her musical career shortly after.
