Krautschädl is an Austrian rock band formed in 2003 in Wels. The ensemble performs rock, funk, and ska with Upper Austrian dialect lyrics. Following its first concerts in 2004, the group released a demo CD and signed with Sony BMG in 2005. Its eponymous debut album, Krautschädl, was released in 2006, followed by Im Kraut (2007), which featured the tracks “An Woiza” and “S’Bäckerschupferl”. The band performed the Schupf die Schädla tour in 2008 and released GemmaGemma in 2011. In 2012, the group recorded “Einsturzgefohr” for the Eurovision preselection and received an Amadeus Award. Following the album Immer mit da Ruhe (2015), the band became inactive in 2019, the same year it released the compilation This Is Kraut and received a second Amadeus Award. The group resumed activity in 2024 with members Philipp Sikora, Christoph Hehn, and Moritz Holy.
