Born on 11 August 1970 in Cardiff, Wales Andy Bell, best known as the guitarist and songwriter for iconic British shoegaze band Ride, ventured into new sonic territory with his solo electronic project, GLOK. Starting out with his Dissident compilation release in 2019, through GLOK, Andy Bell has explored ambient, techno, and experimental electronic music, creating a rich indietronica sound that has led him to collaborate with several other artists. The GLOK project emerged as an outlet for Andy Bell's long-standing interest in electronic music, inspired by his experiences with synths and his admiration for pioneers in the genre. For his second album Pattern Recognition he teamed up with artists Shamon Cassette, Sinead O'Brien and C.A.R. before forming a partnership with producer Timothy Clerkin for his third album Alliance (2024).
