Limelight was an English rock group from Mansfield formed in 1974. The band consisted of Glenn Scrimshaw, Mike Scrimshaw, Pat Coleman, and John Dakin. Their breakthrough single, “Metal Man” (1980), was followed by the self-titled album Limelight (1980). The group toured with artists including Saxon and Gary Moore. Their recordings include the single “Ashes to Ashes” (1982). The debut album was reissued as Ashes to Ashes (1984). Limelight became inactive in 1987. The members briefly resumed activity for performances in 1997.
