Ellen Maria Nisbeth, also known as Ellen Nisbeth, born on June 16, 1987, in Uppsala, Sweden, is a Swedish violist. She began her musical education at the Royal College of Music with Peter Herresthal and furthered her studies at the Norwegian Academy of Music and the Royal College of Music. Her breakthrough came through performances as a soloist with orchestras such as the Trondheim Symphony Orchestra and the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra. Nisbeth's career includes notable performances at festivals like the Verbier Festival and the Oslo Chamber Music Festival, showcasing her versatility in chamber music. In 2017, she released her album Let Beauty Awake. Her achievements include winning the Swedish Royal Academy of Music Soloist Prize in 2012 and the Norwegian Soloist Prize in 2013. Additionally, she received the Anders Wall Foundation Scholarship in 2014. Nisbeth also serves as an assistant professor at the Norwegian Academy of Music.
