Kaiser & Dimitri, originally known as Hobbitz, were a Swiss rap duo from Bern. Formed in 1996 by Kai Reusser, Emmanuel Wiesmann, and Spiro, they gained recognition with their debut album Bärn Räp Verträter released in 1999. The trio contributed to various compilations such as Beetown Beatz, More Compilation, Kopfnicker Records, French Connection, Most Compilation, and Berne City Allstarz. After several concerts in Switzerland and Germany, the group disbanded in 2002, with Emmanuel Wiesmann continuing in the rap scene while Kai Reusser and Spiro stepped back from music. In September 2014, Kaiser & Dimitri reunited under their new name and released Schlicht & Ergrifend, followed by Patina in January 2017, which debuted at Number 1 on the Swiss Album Charts. The duo changed their name in April 2015 primarily due to the rising popularity of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings trilogy, which made their original name widely associated with J.R.R. Tolkien’s works.
