The Sleeping Years is the solo project of Dale Grundle founded in 2007. The former singer of Catchers released three home-recorded EPs: You and Me Against the World (2007), Setting Fire to Sleepy Towns (2007) and Clocks and Clones (2007). These EPs received critical acclaim, featuring on BBC Radio 1’s Introducing and garnering attention from outlets like Rolling Stone and The Word. Grundle collaborated with cellist Michelle So for live performances across France and in London. The duo's first album, We're Becoming Islands One By One, was released in 2008 to positive reviews. The Sleeping Years toured Europe extensively, supporting acts such as Bowerbirds and Damien Jurado. In 2007, the band collaborated with Mark Beazley from Rothko in the song "While December Turns" for the Arctic Circle Xmas album That Fuzzy Feeling.
