Aïcha Koné, born on May 21, 1957, in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, is a singer known for her work in Poro danse, Mandingo, and Variété africaine. Koné's early career faced challenges due to her father's opposition, but she began her musical journey as a chorist with the Orchestre de la Radio Télévision Ivoirienne (ORTI) under the direction of Boncana Maïga, who became her mentor. Koné released her first 45-tours, Denikeleni, in 1979 and went on to release several albums including Tchaga (1990), Poro Dance (1992), Mandingo Live from Côte d'Ivoire (1993), and Consécration (1997). She is notable for being the only Ivorian singer to have received two gold discs and over 45 awards, including the Prix Ngomo pour la paix in 1989. Koné has performed worldwide and collaborated with artists such as Manu Dibango and Meiway.
