Ride the Sky was a progressive power metal supergroup formed in Sweden in 2006 by drummer Uli Kusch, vocalist Bjørn Jansson, and guitarist Benny Jansson. The trio began collaborating when Kusch started exchanging musical ideas with Bjørn Jansson. They released their debut album New Protection on August 24, 2007, through Nuclear Blast Records. In November 2007, keyboardist Kaspar Dahlqvist left the band for personal reasons and was replaced by Henning "Zet" Ramseth. Ride the Sky disbanded on April 22, 2008, citing a lack of media focus and support from their record label.
