Luther Russell, born November 30, 1970, is an American musician. At 17, he formed his first band, the Bootheels, with Jakob Dylan and Aaron A. Brooks. Russell's career also included being the lead singer/songwriter for the Freewheelers, who released two albums: The Freewheelers (1991) and Waitin' for George (1995). He went solo in 1997 with the release of Lowdown World, followed by Down at Kit's (1999) and Spare Change (2001). In 2007, he released the solo album, Repair. His critically acclaimed double-album, The Invisible Audience (2011), marked a significant milestone in his career. He then formed Those Pretty Wrongs with Jody Stephens of Big Star, releasing their self-titled debut LP in 2016.
