Weeping Tile was a Canadian rock band formed in 1992 in Kingston, Ontario. The group was started by singer-songwriter Sarah Harmer when she was invited to fill in for an opening act at a concert in Ottawa. Initially performing as a duo with Joe Chithalen on bass, the lineup expanded to include Gord Tough on guitar and Chris Smirnios on drums. Weeping Tile released their debut cassette in 1994, which was re-released in 1995 as Eepee. Their first full-length album, Cold Snap, followed in 1996. In 1997, they released their follow-up album, Valentino. Despite popularity on the live music circuit and campus radio, Weeping Tile never achieved mainstream success and were dropped by their record label in 1998. Shortly afterward, the band broke up due to interpersonal dynamics.
