DARK EYES IN LOVE EP COMING MAY 21
Dave JR is a 27-year-old artist from Rouen (France). From a French mother and a Jamaican father, he has been immersed in two cultures since childhood, oscillating between French and English, which he speaks fluently.
As a teenager, he wrote his first bars in French, but he quickly realized that it was in English that he was most comfortable. Influenced by rap, RnB and reggae from Jamaica and the USA, he began writing in English at 15, and went to the studio 5 years later.
For 2 years, he has been recording, producing and mixing from home, surrounded by friends beatmakers, musicians, artists and sound engineers. Dave is very complete throughout the projects. He can handle the rhythmic techniques of the boom bap just as much as the triplet flows of the current trap sound.
JR also cares about his Jamaican origins, which he often highlights in his visual world and subtly incorporating jamaican patois.
Constantly evolving, Dave brings us today his new EP, "DARK EYES IN LOVE".
In these 5 tracks, he transports us to his eclectic universe tinged with melodious rap and catchy vibes. On YZ productions, he tells us over the titles a romance with very colorful metaphors. A sequence well mastered that ends on a hovering track for an imminent take-off.
Dave JR delivered us 5 solo projects punctuated by several singles; in early April, he released his old school vibe single "BAD DAY".
May 7 he released his promotional single “VERIFY” in duo with MATARI.
Back in 2019, he released a serie of 5 tracks for the summer called "Cooling Season". He also collaborated with his friend Tommyjarvis, producer, on the EPs "Horizon" and "Horizon II", in which JR reveals his many vocal abilities.
Currently, he is working on a collaborative project with the beatmaker duo DISGUISE.
On stage, he gradually made its place with shows at 106 (Rouen, France), La Cave aux Poètes (Roubaix, France), Nautilys (Comines, France) or even MJC Picaud (Cannes, France).
