Drecksau, a German sludge metal band from Nuremburg, formed in 1995. The band was comprised of Nobbe Scherer on guitar and vocals, Michael Seitz on bass, and Dirk Friedmann on drums. The band’s early self‑produced demo Schänder attracted the attention of Nuclear Blast, which released their debut album Brecher in 1998, produced by Andy Classen. Schmerz followed in 1999, continuing the partnership with Classen. In 2001, the EP Winter was issued, and 2003 saw the release of Kältekammer on TTS Media Music. The band toured as support for Soulfly, Richthofen, Crowbar, and EyeHateGod. Drecksau disbanded in 2005, citing personal and musical developments of the individual musicians.
