Selma Bajrami (born 4 July 1980) is a Bosnian singer. She began her professional music career at the age of 18 with the release of her debut studio album Kad suza ne bude… (1998). From 1999, she was also a member of the pop group IF from Tuzla, while simultaneously building her solo career. In 2002, she left the group to fully focus on her solo work.
To date, she has released nine studio albums and is considered one of the most prominent performers of popular music in Bosnia and Herzegovina. She gained her greatest popularity during the 2000s, with some of her biggest hits from that period including “Kakvo tijelo Selma ima” (2004), “Tijelo uz tijelo” (2004), “Ostrvo tuge” (2007), “Lijepe žene” (2007), and “Farmerice” (2009).
Her music has evolved from an initial folk sound to a blend of pop and pop-folk, incorporating elements of turbo-folk, pop-rock, and dance-pop production. She is recognized for her powerful vocals and energetic, highly dynamic live performances, where she combines vocal interpretation, emotion, and choreography, making her a distinctive figure on the former Yugoslav music scene.
Through her work and recognizable artistic expression, she has left a lasting mark on the regional music industry, with her music continuing to resonate across generations.
