Musa Manzini was born on May 30, 1971 in Inanda, South Africa. He moved to Cape Town in 1986 to attend high school, where he began playing guitar before switching to bass and studying musicology at the University of Cape Town. Manzini released his debut album New Reflections in 2008 on BMG Records Africa. His subsequent albums included Tributes and Memories, My Bass, and Simply Life. He performed at major festivals, including the North Sea Jazz Festival and in New Orleans. After undergoing two operations for a brain tumor, Manzini continued his career, releasing his final album Trust in Love. He passed away on May 15, 2023.
