Orphanage was a death and gothic metal band, was known as one of the earliest Dutch metal acts to blend guttural vocals with female vocals. The group's initial releases included demos Morph (1993) and Druid (1994), followed by their debut EP At the Mountains of Madness (1997). Their first full-length album, Oblivion, was released in 1995. Orphanage gained significant traction through live performances across Europe, including notable appearances at festivals such as Dynamo Open Air and Graspop Metal Meeting. They shared the stage with prominent bands like Within Temptation and Kreator. Subsequent albums include By Time Alone (1996), Inside (2000), and Driven (2004). Orphanage disbanded in 2005.
