Born on February 27, 1992, in the DMV, Booba Radio has lived a life shaped by loss, love, and an unwavering passion for music. His story begins in tragedy—losing his uncle at just four years old and his father at eight, both to murder. Those early wounds cut deep, but they also became the roots of his creativity and strength.
Raised by his mother, Booba stepped up early, helping to raise his brother and becoming a protector and role model before he even understood what childhood was supposed to feel like. When his stepfather came into the picture, he brought a new sense of family and stability, later adding another brother to the mix—completing the household and giving Booba new inspiration. Through his stepfather, Booba was introduced to music engineers and producers, the people who would unknowingly help shape his sound and set him on his path toward artistry.
The name Booba carries history—it was originally a nickname given to his father by his Jamaican grandmother. Adding Radio was Booba’s way of continuing that legacy, representing his connection to sound, frequency, and storytelling. Like a boombox, Booba Radio amplifies emotion—broadcasting pain, passion, and perspective through rhythm and rhyme.
His journey with words began in 8th grade, when he started writing poetry as a form of self-expression and healing. Over time, those poems turned into verses and songs. Though he started recording in the studio, it wasn’t until his uncle StillJune pushed him to drop visuals on 1203TV—the official YouTube channel for 1203 Music Group—that Booba began to take his craft seriously.
After parting ways with StillJune, Booba took that setback as a lesson, using it to study the business side of music—from distribution and marketing to branding and publishing. He learned how to move as an independent artist, releasing music on all major streaming platforms, building his presence on social media, and researching how to make every dollar and every second of his grind count. Even without a major label or financial backing, he’s built a foundation through consistency, authenticity, and pure self-belief.
