Alex, also known as N47, has Corsican roots and hails from southern France, currently based near the Geneva region. His musical journey began in the early 2000s when he started creating beats for his rap group, FCR, inspired by the underground hip-hop scene. Exploring various disciplines of hip-hop like rap, graffiti, and turntablism, he quickly delved into music creation.
Audiences can expect primarily instrumental hip-hop and beatmaking combined with scratching from N47. However, he doesn't limit himself to one genre, also exploring electronic music forms like drum and bass and techno. His sound immerses listeners in different realms through each track, narrating stories with music notes, samples, and rhythms, aiming to spark curiosity and evoke emotions.
N47's musical influences have evolved over time, initially focused on rap groups like IAM, NTM, and Keny Arkana. However, with his foray into music production, his influences diversified, drawing from various countries, cultures, and musical genres. Artists like Gasoline, Dring Toy, Chinese Man, Hugo Kant and many others inspire him.
N47 has also served as a DJ for rapper Fav-o, accompanying him onstage for several years. Notable performances include gigs with Fav-o and D2C until 2020, such as the 2019 Fête de la Musique in Geneva, where he accompanied a drummer for the first time, and opening for La Caution's 20th anniversary show, where he met DJ Fab, an unforgettable experience.
So far, N47 has released DJ sets, multiple singles, and an EP in 2024. These music formats are more accessible as he juggles his passion with work commitments.
Currently, N47 focuses on music production, working on new beatmaking-focused tracks. He continues to explore and experiment with different sounds and musical genres, aiming to evolve his artistry and share his passion with the audience.
