Andrew Tyson, born on December 19, 1986 in Durham, North Carolina, is an American classical pianist. He studied piano at the University of North Carolina with Thomas Otten, then at the Curtis Institute of Music under Claude Frank and later at the Juilliard School with Robert McDonald. Tyson's career includes performances at venues such as Merkin Hall in New York and the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston. He has collaborated with orchestras including the Raleigh Symphony Orchestra and the Kansas City Symphony. In 2011, Tyson won the Young Concert Artists prize, followed by the Hallé Orchestra prize at the Leeds International Piano Competition in 2012.
