Christina Rosenvinge, emerged from Spain as the frontwoman of the indie pop group Christina y los Subterráneos, a project that never settled on a fixed lineup and featured a rotating roster of musicians. The group’s breakthrough came with the 1992 single "Voy En Un Coche" and the debut album Que Me Parta Un Rayo, recorded with Pancho Varona, Jaime Asúa, José Nodar, Óscar Quesada, and Antonio García de Diego; the album was followed by the 1994 release Mi Pequeño Animal, produced by Steve Jordan and Nico Bolas and featuring Pino Palladino, Steve Boltz, and Simón Fisher Turner, with Argentine singer Andrés Calamaro on backing vocals. After the two studio albums, Rosenvinge abandoned the band name, released the solo album Cerrado produced by Lee Ranaldo, and relocated to New York to pursue an American career. In 2023 she celebrated the 30th anniversary of Que Me Parta Un Rayo with a tour across Spain and South America.
