Vince Scheuerman is an American singer-songwriter, guitarist, and the leader of the alternative rock band Army of Me, which was formed in Washington, D.C. After growing up in a religious community in Gaithersburg, Maryland, Scheuerman and bassist John Hutchins left the ska band Sidewinders SC to form Cactus Patch in 2001. The group was later renamed Army of Me after winning the WHFS Big Break contest. Under the original moniker, the trio self-released three extended plays and a self-titled album, followed by the independent releases Fake Ugly EP and Demos EP as Army of Me. The band signed with Atlantic Records and released the studio album Citizen on April 10, 2007, which featured the single “Going Through Changes”. Scheuerman subsequently released the acoustic extended play Make Yourself Naked (2009) and the full-length album Searching For You, which was released on October 15, 2013.
