Issa Hassan was born عيسى حسن on December 25, 1970, in Beirut, Lebanon, and is a Kurdish musician, singer, and composer. In 1984, Hassan moved to France, where he played the bouzouk and sang. His career took off with the release of his debut album, Gulînar, in 1995. Hassan followed this with Ballade kurde à Séville (2000), Tooting Broadway (2000), and Art du bouzouk (2001). His subsequent albums, including La cinquième saison (2005) and Kurdomania (2008), showcased his approach to traditional Kurdish music by blending it with flamenco and jazz. Hassan's album So Bouzouk/So Buzuq was released in 2012.
