Mohammed Marwan Ba'aseery, known professionally as Iwan, was born on August 16, 1980 in Beirut, Lebanon. He began his musical career as a songwriter for artists like Bassima and Fares Karam. In 2003, Iwan released his debut single "Oul Inshallah," which became a hit across the Middle East. His breakthrough album Alby Sahran was released in 2004, winning him a platinum record and the Arabian Music Awards for Best New Arab Male Artist that year. In August 2007, Iwan released his second album Erga' Leya. He continued to release notable singles such as "Khalina Ne'oul" with Amal Hijazi in 2008.
