Crash is a pioneering South Korean thrash metal band from Seoul, formed in 1991 by Ahn Heung-Chan (vocals and bass guitar), Jung Yong-Wook (drums), and Yoon Doo-Byung (guitar). They quickly became known for their energetic live performances, featuring slam dancing and stage diving, a first in Korea. Their debut album, Endless Supply of Pain, produced by Colin Richardson, was both a critical and commercial hit, selling over 80,000 copies in 1993. The band underwent lineup changes; Yoon was replaced by Ha Jae-Yong on guitars in 1996 and Lim Sang-Mook, who joined in 2002, left in 2007, and rejoined in 2014. Despite a shift towards a death metal sound on their second album, they returned to thrash with The Paragon of Animals in 2010, incorporating a groove metal style. The band has continued to evolve, as seen in their 2014 EP Untamed Hands In Imperfect World. Over the years, Crash has also participated in tribute albums and collaborated with other artists, including backing vocals for Seo Taiji & Boys. Their contributions to the genre were recognized when they won Best Rock Album at the Korean Music Awards in 2011.
