Helltrain are a Swedish death 'n' roll band from Luleå that formed in 2002. The group was founded by brothers Pierre and Patrik Törnkvist alongside drummer Oscar Karlsson, all of whom were former members of the band Everdawn. They released a demo in 2002 featuring the tracks “Route 666”, “Rot n' Roll”, and “Helltrain”, which was later compiled as The 666 EP (2003) by the label Heathendoom Music. After signing with Nuclear Blast, the ensemble released their debut studio album, Route 666 (2004). They subsequently moved to the Jimmy Franks Recording Company and released their second album, Rock n' Roll Devil (2008). In 2009, they expanded their lineup to include guitarist Mikael Sandorf and bassist Mats Järnil. Their third studio album, Death Is Coming, was released in 2012 on TPL Records. Following the death of Oscar Karlsson in 2016, the band became inactive but resumed activity in 2018 with the singles “Wolfnight” (2018) and “On Your Knees” (2018). The lineup consists of the Törnkvist brothers with Sandorf, bassist Markus Parkkila, and drummer Fredrik Andersson. In 2023, the band released the single “Mischief” (2023).
