Maxime Pascal, born on September 9, 1985, in Nantes, France, is a conductor. He started learning piano and violin early, and was admitted to the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris in 2005. Pascal co-founded Le Balcon, an orchestra known for its innovative use of sound techniques, in 2008 while still a student. This ensemble allowed him to develop his vision of music as a radical and immersive experience, collaborating with notable figures such as Pierre Boulez and George Benjamin. Pascal has directed various orchestras including the Orchestre National de Lille and the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester, and has performed at prestigious festivals like the Festival Musica in Strasbourg and the Salzburg Festival. He was named director musical of the Orchestre symphonique d'Helsingborg in October 2023.
