Grand Courage is a Russian heavy metal and power metal band from Bronnitsy, established in 1999. The ensemble was founded by guitarist and songwriter Mikhail Bugaev and was initially known as Courage until 2007. The group's primary history is often dated to 2004, marking the formation of its "Golden lineup" featuring vocalist Mikhail Zhitnyakov. In 2005, the quartet won the ProRock contest and received the Grand Prix. The band released its debut studio album, Vechnaya igra ("Eternal Game"), on September 20, 2006. Their second album, Novoy nadezhdy svet... ("The Light of New Hope..."), was published in 2008. On May 9, 2010, the group released the single "Na voyne" ("At War"), dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the victory in World War II. Zhitnyakov left the group in February 2012 to join the band Aria, though he completed the vocal recordings for the third album, Serdtsa v Atlantide ("Hearts in Atlantis"), which was released on May 28, 2012. Bugaev subsequently recruited Petr Elfimov as the lead vocalist in 2018. The band's discography also includes the studio albums Zhit' kak nikto drugoy (2016), Epohi, geroi i sudby (2021), and Legendi mira iz ognya (2024).
