The Villiers Quartet is a string quartet based in the United Kingdom, founded in 2011. The ensemble consists of members James Dickenson, Tamaki Higashi, Carmen Flores, and Nick Stringfellow. They achieved national recognition through their residencies at the University of Oxford and Nottingham High School. In 2015, the quartet provided the soundtrack for the television series Lady Chatterley's Lover and performed live on BBC Radio 3 as part of the Leamington International series. Their repertoire focuses on British composers, including Peter Racine Fricker, William Alwyn, and Robert Still. They released the album William Sterndale Bennett: Sextet in F Sharp Minor – Chamber Trio – String Quartet in G in 2018. The quartet has received critical success, including a five-star review from Classical Music Magazine in 2015 and a four-star review from the Observer. They have also premiered and commissioned numerous works by 21st-century British composers to expand the string quartet literature.
