Rainbow99 (real name: Ryu Seung-hyun) is a South Korean musician, born in December 9, 1981, known for his contributions to the independent music scene. Active since 2004, he has been celebrated for his distinctive guitar sound and collaborations with numerous artists, including Adult Child, Oldfish, and Hi, Mr. Memory. As a guitarist, Rainbow99 has worked with prominent indie acts like Rooftop Moonlight and Seok Jun, gaining recognition in the Hongdae music scene for his unique style. His discography includes albums such as SiwaRainbow (2009, as SiwaRainbow), Love is no tomorrow (2010), Dream Pop(2013), Seoul (2014), and Home (2019). Notable collaborative works include Spring, Revolution (2011, with Kim Sung-hee) and Alphaville (2017, with Chun Mi-ji). In 2024, he released a new album Rise and Fall.
