Sektion Kuchikäschtli, a Swiss hip-hop group from Igis in the canton of Graubünden, was formed in 1998 by rapper Rennie, DJ Stimpee Kutz, and producer Claud. The group gained early recognition with their 2002 EP Lampafiaber. Their debut album, Dorfgschichta (2002), was considered a milestone in Swiss hip-hop, praised for its humor and quality. Their second album, Nur So Am Rand (2004), reached number 6 on the Swiss charts and earned them the first gold record for a Swiss dialect rap group, remaining in the charts for 24 weeks. After a brief hiatus, the band returned with Affatanz (2007), which debuted at number 2, the highest chart entry for a Swiss hip-hop album at the time. Following Rennie’s departure to Africa, Sektion Kuchikäschtli became inactive. In 2017, Rennie and DJ Stimpee Kutz reunited to release the album Randnotiz under Rennie’s name, which reached number 16 on the Swiss album charts.
