Arkol, a French rock group formed in 1999 in the Parisian suburbs, was founded by Julien Deniel (vocals, guitar) and David Leprince (keyboards) after meeting in Le Mans; they later added Fabrice Cailleau and Damien Gautier, and in 2003 Guillaume Arbonville joined on drums. The band signed a contract with Warner France in 2002. Their breakthrough came with the 2003 single "J'ai changé d'avis" and the 2001 EP Rock alternatif, leading to further releases. The debut studio album Vue Imprenable was released in 2004 and peaked at Number 81 on the French Top 100 Albums in June 2004, while the single "Vingt Ans" entered the Top Singles at Number 30 that same year. After touring over 100 shows across France and Belgium, Arkol released their second album On Aurait Dit Qu'on Etait Bien on 12 November 2007, preceded by singles "Faits Divers", "Mon Grand-Père", "Tout Le Monde Est Un Con", "Si La Vie C'Est ça", and "15 m²" all released on 18 September 2006. The group disbanded in 2008.
