Zen Guerrilla was an American rock ensemble formed in Newark, Delaware, in the late 1980s. The original lineup included Andy Duvall, Marcus Durant, Carl Horne, Daniel McMullen, and Rich Millman. The group received several Philly music awards for its early recordings. In 1992, the band released its debut studio recording, Zen Guerrilla, on Compulsiv Records. The ensemble relocated to San Francisco in 1994. Subsequent recordings included Invisible "Liftee" Pad / Gap-Tooth Clown (1997) via Alternative Tentacles and the albums Trance States in Tongues (1999) and Shadows on the Sun (2001) through Sub Pop. The group's recording “Empty Heart” appeared in the 2000 PlayStation game Grind Session. The ensemble became inactive in 2003.
