Gena has one of the most respected resumes in Bluegrass. She has been a part of Petticoat Junction, North Carolina’s New Vintage, Lou Reid & Carolina, Alan Bibey & Grasstowne, and is currently forming her own band. In 2012, she helped to found GRAMMY-nominated Sister Sadie, with whom she still records and performs. The band has earned IMBA Vocal Group of the Year (2019, 2020, 2021) and IMBA Entertainer of the Year (2020). In total, Gena has earned seven IBMA awards. Her accolades also include the Recorded Event and Album of the Year awards, as well as a Banjo Player of the Year trophy from the SPGMA. Endorsed by Wilson Custom Banjos, Hatfield Banjos, Blue Chip Picks, and several other major brands, Gena continues to make a mark in bluegrass.
