Ernst "Aernschd" Born, also known as Aernschd Born, born on December 11, 1949, in Zürich, Switzerland, was a singer and songwriter. During the late 1960s, while training as a reproduction photographer, Born began writing his first songs. His breakthrough moment came in the mid-1970s when he became involved in political activism against nuclear power, particularly during the occupation of the Kaiseraugst nuclear power plant site. This activism earned him the nickname "Haussänger" of the Swiss anti-nuclear movement. In 1972, Born released his first EP, Gäll: Unbequemi Lieder. His subsequent albums include D Ballade vo dr Münschterfähri (1975) and Äntlig e Lied (1977). He was awarded the Deutscher Kleinkunstpreis in 1980 for his double-LP Aendschtation Paradies. Born continued to perform with various ensembles, including the BORN Band Basel.
