Go Jimmy Go was an American ska, rocksteady, reggae and soul influenced band from Honolulu, Hawaii. Formed in 1996 by Larry Gordon and Cameron Wright during the third-wave ska craze, the group initially featured a rotating lineup before solidifying with key members including Wright on bass guitar, Gordon on alto saxophone and vocals, Eric White on tenor saxophone, Ian Ashley on guitar, and Tyson Balmores on drums. The band's breakthrough came in 1998 with high-profile gigs including the Spring Skalabration featuring Hepcat, Save Ferris, and Dance Hall Crashers. Their debut album Slow Time was released independently in 2000, coinciding with their first tour. In 2002, they released Soul Arrival on Moon Room Records and supported No Doubt on their Rocksteady Tour. Go Jimmy Go's third full-length album, The Girl with the Fishbowl Eyes, was released in 2005. In 2016, they celebrated their 20th anniversary and held their farewell show with past and present members at the Republik in Honolulu. Band member Larry Gordon passed away on July 1, 2023.
