Shanti Snyder is a Japanese singer, songwriter, and television host born in Japan in 1981. Known professionally as SHANTI, they are the daughter of the musician Tommy Snyder. Shanti achieved recognition through collaborations with the composer Yōko Kanno, including the theme song for the film Escaflowne: The Movie (2000). Their debut solo album, Share My Air (2008), was recorded in Paris. Shanti’s discography includes the albums Born to Sing (2010), which reached number 154 on the Oricon charts, and Romance with Me (2011), which reached number 102. They served as a host for the music program J-Melo between 2008 and 2010. Subsequent recordings include the albums Lotus Flower (2012), Cloud 9 (2012), and Mantra (2019).
