Franziska Baumann, born on April 9, 1965, is a Swiss musician and composer. After studying flute and voice at the Konservatorium Winterthur, she pursued improvisation with Fred Frith, Barre Phillips and George Lewis, expanding her vocal technique with click sounds, microtones and percussive effects. She released her debut album Vocal Suite in 1997, followed by Voice Sphere (2002) and Interzones Volume I (2017). Baumann collaborated with Pierre Favre, Joëlle Léandre, Lê Quan Ninh and the trio Potage du Jour, and performed at festivals such as Victoriaville and Donaueschingen. She taught vocal performance at the Hochschule der Künste in Bern since 2006.
